Being Motivated & Staying Motivated

I will admit that from time to time, I have suffered the forbidden feeling of  not being motivated  to do anything.  I wanted to succeed yet I kept on laying on the couch, carelessly.  In fact, I asked myself if I will ever think positive and stay positive. Truth is, it may seem impossible to get out of this gutter. I know that feeling, we all do. This post will be one of my toughest  challenge yet because there is no easy way out of this.   Because you’re reading this, this tells me you’re ready for change and that alone puts you ahead of the world. While most people would have continued to sit around carelessly, you declined do that and instead are reading this. You made a smart decision and because of that, you’re more likely to rise up from this gutter. I’m ready to help you but  are you ready to help yourself? If so, I have just what you need to get out of this gutter.

I would like to begin by having you look at these images; simply because pictures are worth a thousand words and  they are great at getting the point across:

One thing that gets me going is looking at these images and taking on the motivation that it gives off. If that isn’t enough, think for a second and tell me, what goal of yours is it that you want to reach?

For me, it’s becoming a fitness model. While my friends may laugh at this, I could care less. It is something I would like to do, something I would enjoy, something I would definitely be happy to achieve. But goals aren’t as easy as they come to be. Sometimes people will laugh at you, or even put you down. You’re better than that, go do what you want to do because this is your life, not theirs.

Once you have your goals made up, you need a little inspiration to get yourself boosted. While inspiration may be enough,  it quickly goes away for most. So you will need to build and keep that anticipation. Anticipation is very important because it retains that state of inspiration by reminding us the final reward that comes at the end. This is all very hard to do without inspiration but once you do attain that positive energy, it’s a matter of keeping it going.

Make sure that you think about it every second as well! Alright well it probably doesn’t need to be that frequent but make it a habit of a daily thing at least! Once you condition your mind to make it a priority, it’ll become engraved in your head and you will want to do more. Just remember that if you ever feel down, read motivating websites like this or look at success stories. When I feel down, I start reading my own posts and honestly, I think to myself “how did I think of something clever like that to write about?!” and I’ll probably say it again when I read back at this post! When you read articles like this, it makes your mind re-focus itself. Thus it’s true when people recommend to read something before bed and after waking up, it sets the mind up for an easy trail to go along.

Next will be  a video but before you think to yourself “I’m too lazy to watch it.”, that right there is a decision that brought you to be in this gutter. I promise this video is definitely worth watching because it makes you realize things in a deeper prospective.

In the end, it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. The same goes to viewing your motivation. Ask yourself this: Is this ambition something you want to get out of the way, or is it something you truly enjoy? I learn that if it is something I enjoy, I will get back to it no matter what. If you find yourself out of the blues for a while, it’s most likely that you don’t enjoy doing it at all. Let’s face it, if you enjoy doing something, how can that enjoyment just become dull? Perhaps at the time, it just seemed like a really good idea but because those ideas change over time, you need to find one a different one that you’re willing to stick to.

In the end, if it’s something that you want, you will chase after it, no excuses. Whenever you find yourself in the gutter from time to time, rethink about your dreams and ask yourself if it’s really something you want. There is a fine line between ‘doing’ and ‘enjoying’. Usually when we find ourselves doing something, that excitement dies shortly after but enjoying something is one thing that doesn’t get old. If you become unmotivated, maybe it is something that you aren’t truly passionate about and that’s fine, we were all trying to find out what was right for us at one point because that’s life.

Commitment leads to action. Action brings your dream closer.

There are two things to aim at in life; first to get what you want, and after that to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind has achieved the second.

I asked for strength…

And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for Wisdom…

And God gave me Problems to solve.

I asked for Prosperity…

And God gave me Brain and Energy to work.

I asked for Courage…

And God gave me Danger to overcome.

I asked for Love…

And God gave me Troubled people to help.

I asked for Favors…

And God gave me Opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted,

But I received everything I needed.
